Transplant Recipients Tell Stories in New Book
A new book
chronicling the lives of 17 organ transplant recipients from around
the United States provides inspirational stories of how people
cope with extremely difficult challenges and end up inspiring
others.
"New
Life: Lessons in Faith and Courage from Transplant Recipients",
is a collection of heartwarming and compelling profiles that will
encourage not only transplant candidates, recipients, donors,
and their families, but anyone who is facing a health problem
or any other kind of adversity.
Through uplifting
accounts of achievement, readers are left with a sense of admiration
for the accomplishments and triumphs of the individuals profiled.
The recipients
describe how faith in God, support from family and friends, and
the skills of health-care professionals helped them deal with
some of life's most serious challenges.
"New
Life: Lessons in Faith and Courage from Transplant Recipients"
(iUniverse, 2003), was written by Bob Violino. A business and
technology journalist for 23 years, Violino received a kidney
transplant in 1995. He is editor of a monthly newsletter for organ
transplant recipients on Long Island, NY, and has worked to help
promote organ donor awareness.
"I recommend
this book for all audiences because it explores relationships
and describes all that is unsurpassable in human behavior,"says
Dr. Khalid Butt, director of transplantation at Westchester Medical
Center. "It is particularly recommended for the families
of any people who are about to embark upon transplant therapies."
"New
Life" is available at www.amazon.com, www.iuniverse.com,
and other online booksellers. The book can also be ordered by
calling the publisher toll-free at 877-823-9235 or through major
