Transplant Center Guide: STATES -- YEAR 2001 DATA

Here is a list of approved organ transplant programs, listed alphabetically by state. Under each state heading, the centers are listed from most active to least active, based on total number of organ transplants performed in the most recent year for which complete information is available (2001). The totals for 2000, 1999 and 1998 are included as a point of reference.

These totals include all kidney, pancreas, kidney-pancreas, liver, heart, lung, and heart-lung transplants performed at the center. They are intended only to provide a reference point as to the size of the programs. Keep in mind the possibility that programs may have started, expanded or contracted significantly, or been withdrawn since this data was compiled. As an indicator that change is taking place in a program, totals for programs that increased their activity by more than 30 transplants from 2000 to 2001 are listed in green. Totals for programs that decreased their activity by more than 30 transplants from 2000 to 2001 are listed in yellow.

The magnitude of the change should be evaluated against the size of the program. A change from 41 to 71 is obviously more significant than a change from 410 to 450.
