Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas announced it has
received approval from the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS),
which coordinates the national organ distribution system, to launch
a liver and kidney transplant program at Baylor All Saints Medical
Center in Fort Worth.
The transplant team, directed by Dr. Marlon Levy, said it anticipates
that it will begin performing transplants later this month and
expects to do approximately 30 kidney and 30 liver transplant
during the first year.
"The Baylor All Saints transplant program will mirror the
transplant program at Baylor Dallas, offering patients advanced
transplantation techniques, such as living donor transplants,"
said Dr. Goran Klintmalm, who oversees both programs.
Dr. Natalie Murray is the director of hepatology at Baylor All
Saints.
