Baylor to Begin Performing Transplants in Fort Worth

 

Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas announced it has received approval from the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), which coordinates the national organ distribution system, to launch a liver and kidney transplant program at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth.

The transplant team, directed by Dr. Marlon Levy, said it anticipates that it will begin performing transplants later this month and expects to do approximately 30 kidney and 30 liver transplant during the first year.

"The Baylor All Saints transplant program will mirror the transplant program at Baylor Dallas, offering patients advanced transplantation techniques, such as living donor transplants," said Dr. Goran Klintmalm, who oversees both programs.

Dr. Natalie Murray is the director of hepatology at Baylor All Saints.
