A new National
Donor Memorial Web site has been launched at www.donormemorial.org
where organ and tissue donor families, transplant recipients and
others can honor a loved one who donated life.
The web site,
created by the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), features
a "Tributes" section where visitors can either view
tributes to organ donors or create new ones.
Visitors who
wish to honor an organ donor can create memorial pages that tell
that person's "story." Tributes can include words; scanned
photos or other images that commemorate the organ donor's life;
and his or her passions, favorite places or cherished events.
UNOS, which
manages the nation's organ transplant network, said it has created
the site as a virtual component of the National Donor Memorial
garden being built at its new headquarters in Richmond, VA.
