Over the past 20 years, the Transplant Centers at the University
of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center have emerged as a leader
in all aspects of transplantation.
The program is one of the five most active programs in the United
States, performing more than 400 kidney, kidney-pancreas, liver,
heart, lung, and intestine transplants each year.
Patient outcomes each year rank among the highest in the country.
In addition, faculty are at the forefront of basic biomedical
transplant science and clinical research, and islet research program
is a leader in the effort to find a cure for diabetes.
